Sam and Rudy

We adopted our beloved Pound Puppy, Sam from Onslow county shelter 17 years ago.  He is a Golden retriever and Bassett Hound mix and adorable.  He was 7 months old when we got him.  He is definitely a country dog and loves our big yard.  He has been a faithful watch over the children and alerts us to anyone who dares venture into our neck of the woods. His extended family is Dr. Kenneth Padget, his vet, who has taken care of all his ailments. He is so sweet and loves to be petted. He is getting old, but is in good health; however, he can hit the ground running when he sees a squirrel Prior to Sam, we had Dumplin, who was a beagle/terrier, for 15 years that we adopted from Caps at 6 weeks of age.   I encourage everyone to adopt.  These dogs know they are wanted and can feel the love. Twelve years ago, We also adopted a beautiful liver and white Springer, Rudy,  that we lost just last night and we are looking to get another one ASAP to keep Sammy company. They were such Pals.  When folks say, it is a dogs world...that is a wonderful place to be at our house.
