******Before you contact us, please understand that Carolina Animal Protection Society is currently unable to accept any new animals into our programs due to a shortage of foster homes.  For those of you that are trying to find your animal a new home, here are a few suggestions:

  • Always ask people you trust if they would like to adopt your pet first.

  • Put up flyers at work, church, grocery stores, vet clinics, and pet stores; basically everywhere that has a bulletin board.

  • Place an ad.  There are several papers in our area including:  The Daily News, The Globe, Tideland News, and Carolina Animals.

  • If your animal is a pure-bred contact a specific breed rescue group.  You can find rescue groups by searching on the Internet.

As a last resort, you may need to place your pet at the local animal shelter but make sure IT IS THE LAST OPTION as the pound is overburdened with animals daily.  If you do decide to turn your pet over to the shelter, please make sure that your pet in current on flea preventative medication as well as turn over all vet records to the pet once you've removed your name.  These things may help your pet find a loving new home easier.

****NOTE:  Please be careful who you give up your dog to.  Ask as many questions as possible and visit their home.  There are people in the area who answer these ads and do not take proper care of the animals they acquire.  Don't be afraid to ask questions!  We also RECOMMEND that you have any prospective new adopters fill out this printable application.
